Auckland, New Zealand – The crowd at Lucky Ali Live in Concert on 12 October 2025 was captivated by the incredible flute performance of Annada Prasanna Pattanaik, also known as Flute Butto. A Living Legend of Bansuri

Annada Prasanna Pattanaik is not just a flautist. He is also a singer, composer, arranger, and producer who has inspired audiences worldwide. Trained under the great Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, he has played for over two thousand films and collaborated with top Indian musicians.

He has performed in famous shows like MTV Unplugged and Coke Studio Bharat and shared the stage with music icons such as Lucky Ali, Shivamani, Ranjit Barot, and Kumaresh.

From Humble Beginnings to Global Fame

His musical journey began in the small mining town of Kiriburu, where his mother gifted him his first flute. That simple start grew into a career that now spans India, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Bhutan, Qatar, Hungary, and the United Kingdom.

Annada has also represented India as a visiting professor at the University of Colorado in the USA. Additionally, he collaborates with the International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA) in Denmark, teaching on the connections between music and cultures.

The Sound That Unites Hearts

Annada’s music blends Indian classical ragas with global sounds. Each note tells a story, crossing borders and emotions. His international albums – India Songs, Igneous, Inner Vision, Expanding Horizons, and The Mesmerising Flute (with Grammy winner Ricky Kej) – continue to inspire listeners around the world.

During Lucky Ali’s concert in Auckland, his flute performance added a soulful layer to every song. The audience cheered, clapped, and sang along, showing how deeply the music touched their hearts.
