The Consulate General of India in Auckland will host the first India States Publicity Programme, titled “Aotearoa to India”, on Sunday, 30 November 2025, at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre.
This new initiative, led by Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India, aims to strengthen the cultural, historical, and economic bonds between India and New Zealand. The event will highlight the diversity of Indian states and their growing role in global trade, tourism, and innovation.
Celebrating India’s Diversity
The programme will showcase four to five Indian states, each known for its tourism, culture, and business potential. Visitors can enjoy cultural performances, exhibitions, and food stalls that reflect India’s regional traditions.
In addition, a panel discussion will feature speakers from both India and New Zealand. They will explore collaboration opportunities in education, trade, and tourism, helping connect communities and inspire future partnerships.
Connecting Communities
More than 300,000 people of Indian origin now call New Zealand home. Their influence continues to grow across business, politics, and education. This event celebrates that contribution and invites Kiwi and Māori communities to experience India’s cultural richness firsthand.
The programme is being organised in collaboration with Disha New Zealand Foundation and Sakhi, two community organisations that empower and support diverse communities. Their involvement ensures the event remains inclusive, interactive, and engaging.
What to Expect
Guests can expect live music, cultural performances, B2B networking, and interactive workshops. From traditional crafts to regional dishes, every corner of the event will offer something new to discover.
The public and media partners are warmly invited to attend and take part in this vibrant cultural exchange between India and New Zealand.
