Manukau, Auckland, October 5, 2025:
The Manukau Diwali 2025 celebration has once again proved why it is Auckland’s most loved festival. Held at the Due Drop Events Centre, the event brought together thousands of people for a full day of colour, music, dance, and delicious food.
This year’s festival was organised as an indoor event, which worked perfectly for families. All performances took place inside the main hall, while the food stalls were set up outside. The arrangement was well thought out and comfortable for everyone. Families enjoyed every moment, whether watching stage performances or trying out their favourite Indian snacks in the open area.

About the Event
Manukau Diwali has become a proud tradition for Auckland’s Indian community. The festival is known for celebrating both traditional and modern Indian culture in one place. Entry was free, which made it open to everyone who wanted to experience the spirit of Diwali.
Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed many cultural performances, including Bhangra, Giddah, Garba, Bharatanatyam, and Bollywood-style dances. The popular Bollywood Dance Competition drew a large crowd, and prizes were given to the winners. The energy in the hall was electric, and every performance received loud cheers from the audience.
Performances That Impressed Everyone
Performers from different age groups took part with great enthusiasm. One of the most loved performances came from the Khote Sikke Dance Group, which included both mothers and children.
Our Webfit News correspondent spoke to Akanksha, a performer from the group. She shared that the group first started as a small idea for children, but later turned into a family group where mothers also joined in. Akanksha, who is originally from Bihar in India, said dance has become her passion and a way to stay connected with her culture while living in Auckland.
Food, Shopping, and Family Time
The outdoor food area was one of the busiest spots of the evening. Some of Auckland’s best-known food outlets were present, serving Indian street food, sweets, and snacks. Families enjoyed trying different dishes while relaxing and chatting in the open space.
There were also stalls selling crafts and gifts, as well as fun rides for children. Parking was easy and well-managed. The weather was pleasant, which added to the enjoyment. Many families stayed from the afternoon until the end of the event, turning it into a full day of fun and relaxation.
What We Saw and Experienced
The Webfit News team had the opportunity to meet the team from Radio Tarana, who played a key role in the success of this event. Our correspondents spoke to RJ Rahul Chopra and Senior RJ Hemant Parikh. Both shared their thoughts on how Diwali celebrations have changed over the years. Hemant mentioned that earlier, organisers often invited celebrity guests from Bollywood, but now the audience loves to see their own local performers on stage.
We would also like to give special thanks to Ajeshni, who was very helpful and cooperative with the media team. Her professionalism and support made our coverage much easier.
A Perfect Evening for Families
As the sun went down, the crowd gathered outside for the fireworks display at nine o’clock. The sky lit up beautifully, and everyone cheered with joy. It was the perfect ending to a day full of celebration.
Manukau Diwali 2025 was a wonderful example of how festivals can bring people together. From small children to senior citizens, everyone found something to enjoy. The arrangements were excellent, the food was tasty, and the performances were full of energy.
It was truly a relaxing and memorable day for families across Auckland, reminding everyone that Diwali is not just a festival of lights but a celebration of togetherness.
