In Bihar, Diwali lights up homes with rows of diyas and family gatherings. Soon after, the dawn rituals of Chhath fill riverbanks with songs and offerings to the Sun. The same spirit of light, gratitude, and community will shine in Auckland this season.

BJSM Diwali and Chhath Celebrations

  • Date: 1 November 2025
  • Time: 4.00 pm onwards
  • Venue: Mt Roskill War Memorial Hall, Auckland
Expect a warm cultural program led by community performers, children’s items, and classic Indian snacks to round off the evening.

We spoke with the team at Bihar Jharkhand Sabha Australia & New Zealand.
Cultural Head Mr. Rajesh said the rehearsals are going strong and the line-up will feel like a slice of home with folk, devotional, and dance items.
President Mr. Bhrigu Bhaskar shared that the goal is simple. Bring families together and make sure every guest leaves with a smile.
Mrs. Sujata Kumar, the Treasurer, told us she is hands-on with volunteers and loves pitching in wherever help is needed. Community first is how she puts it.
Mr. Chandan, Patron and former President, called this gathering a celebration of service and continuity and thanked volunteers who are putting in late nights to make it special.

From all of us at webfitNews, best wishes to BJSM for a memorable evening of Diwali lights and the blessings of Chhath.
