Auckland, 29 September 2025 – New Zealand’s popular telecom company 2degrees is showing strong signs of growth even though it has not yet made a full profit. The company’s revenue, customer base, and overall business performance have all improved, giving confidence that profit is not far away.

Revenue Rising, Loss Shrinking
2degrees reported a net loss before tax of 22.6 million dollars for the financial year 2025, compared to 4.8 million dollars last year.
But this loss mainly came from one-time costs and changes in loan and energy contract values.
The positive news is clear:
- Total revenue increased 3.2 percent to 1.385 billion dollars.
- Mobile revenue increased 4.8 percent to 581.5 million dollars.
- Broadband revenue increased 3.9 percent to 432.3 million dollars.
- Energy revenue increased 8.7 percent to 133.4 million dollars.
The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) went up by 11.5 percent, and cash flow rose from 169 million dollars to 237 million dollars. These are signs of a strong and healthy business.
CEO Mark Callander on Progress
2degrees Chief Executive Officer Mark Callander said that the company has now completed its merger and technology integration and is ready to focus on innovation and customer experience.
He said, “We have finished integration and built a new, modern technology platform. Now our focus is on creating great customer experiences and developing innovative products.”
More Customers and Market Share
2degrees is growing faster than its competitors in both mobile and broadband markets.
According to the Commerce Commission, 2degrees has become New Zealand’s second-largest broadband provider, moving ahead of One NZ and closing in on Spark.
This shows that more people are choosing 2degrees for their mobile and internet services and trust in the brand is growing.
Innovation and Future Plans
With the merger work complete, 2degrees is now preparing to launch new technologies and use artificial intelligence to improve services and reduce costs.
Mark Callander said that the company’s goal is to become:
- Number one in value, by offering the best deals to customers.
- Number one in innovation, by creating useful digital products and services.
- Number one in growth, by gaining the most new customers in the next three years.
What It Means for Customers
For customers, this means better deals, faster customer service, and new digital products. The growth of 2degrees also means stronger competition in the New Zealand telecom market, which is good for everyone.
