Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men. According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA), more than 24,000 men are diagnosed every year, and about 3,500 lose their lives to the disease annually. The risk increases with age, particularly after 50, and men with a family history are at higher risk.
The encouraging news is that early detection can make a life-saving difference. When found early, prostate cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer. Awareness about regular check-ups, PSA testing, and recognising symptoms is critical for protecting men’s health.
