Chhath is more than a festival. For many of us it is the quiet promise we make to Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya to live with gratitude. Families fast, sing old folk songs, prepare thekua, and offer arghya at sunset and sunrise for the well-being of loved ones. Even far from the Ganga, this prayer binds our community together on Auckland’s shores.

This year three Auckland families are opening their homes and hearts. All are welcome, from every background. If you wish to attend, please RSVP directly to the hosts below.
